Prague Castle

December 2, 2014

Prague Castle – My visit and experience

Prague Castle – the ancient symbol of the Czech state – is the most significant Czech monument and one of the most important cultural institutions.

Prague Castle is definitely a magical place to visit; especially in the Winter. I really enjoyed my trip to the castle and the architectural is a must see; very beautiful decor and atmosphere. I was also lucky enough to see the change of the guards at noon; this was pretty cool.

It is a lovely building steeped in history; luckily my entire tour was accompanied by the Director of the foreign Department from the Office of the President of the Republic PaedDr. Hynek Ravi. In short, I was told the history of the Castle throughout the duration of the tour whilst the Director also shared a couple of humorous stories related to the castle’s history.

I was also lucky enough to visit the rooms which tourists are not allowed access to.

Halloween Happy

November 18, 2014

My inspiration for Halloweeeeeeeen – KATY PERRY

My outfit was a cross between Cup Cake Katy and Whipped Cream Katy… Both outfits appeared in her video for California Girls!

I coloured my hair blue with some hair dye from SuperDrug. For my makeup I used a NARS & Benefit Foundation, Benefit Brows Kit, NARS Bronzer, MAC Blusher, YSL Touche Éclat, Double Lashes from ELURE, Benefit Mascara, MAC Red Lips & I drew on some thick flicks on my eye lids using a Loreal Eyeliner.

My friend Sarah dressed as a Skeleton 😛 Who knew her mum was a face paint pro!?!

We had a makeup artist at the house party in Knightsbridge so I was able to get some cute love hearts and lollipops painted on my body plus some funky facial glitter art!

I had a wicked night with great people!

RSPCA Christmas Market

November 17, 2014

On Saturday 14th November I was happy to support the RSPCA at their annual Christmas Market. This year the event was held inside the Leybourne Animal Centre which I thought was a great idea especially as the animals were able to get involved and meet lots of new people.

As an ambassador for the RSPCA, my friend Tanya and I had a few pictures at the centre to promote this great cause. We both raised the most funds for our chosen charity RSPCA in the year we competed for the Miss Earth Title. Tanya won the award in 2011 and myself in 2013.

The centre was open from 11am – 4pm.

There was a raffle, Santa’s Grotto, Lucky Dips, Tea and Cakes, Stalls selling books, gifts, second hand animal items and lots more.

All proceeds go directly to the centre.  http://www.rspca.org.uk/home

Queens of the Castle

October 24, 2014

At the beginning of October I was lucky enough to spend a week in the beautiful Czech Republic.

During the week I got up to all sorts of awesome activities and so there were no exceptions on my last day. On a bright sunny saturday morning I travelled to the Moravian-Silesian Region where I was able to spend a few hours at the Silesian Ostrava Castle. The atmosphere at the Castle was made up to portray a military camp during the Thirty Years War and I was able to watch several ‘battles’ played out by the soldiers. There were lots of wine/food stalls built up around the castle so luckily us girlies were able to taste a few of the medieval cuisines. In the Castle there was also traditional Czech butcher so some of the meat eaters could get stuck in!

Historical music was played aloud everywhere and there was a varied parade of folk crafts. The Exhibition of Moravian wine was a part of the castle’s regale.

Luckily we could put our expertise’s to practice since we had undergone a “crash course” of wine tasting underground in the Valtice  several days before.

Wine = Winning!

After the Castle I headed to the Golf resort Ostravice where we had a light lunch and were able to enjoy the spectacular views! It was a perfect ending to a jammed pack incredible week in Czech Republic.

Magnums 25th Anniversary

October 15, 2014

27th July Regent Street saw the epic Magnum takeover!

It was awesome… FREE chocolate Magnums for all 🙂 25,000 Magnums were in stock and staff were on hand ready to dish them out to all the chocolate junkies.

As we are a nation of selfie crazed citizens, there was an opportunity to WIN a Henry Holland Magnum inspired dress… all you needed to do was TWEET a picture of yourself (a selfie) with your yummy freshly dipped magnum and hash tag MagnumRegentSt.

Shortly after I tweeted my Magnum Selfie I was awarded a free makeover in the VIP ‘Magnum” tent 🙂 I was handed a glass of bubbly on my way in, along with another magnum ice cream and was told I could receive a free makeup goodie bag from KIKO; also on Regent St (which I of course collected)! Woop Woop a successful day… but you had me at ‘free ice-cream’ 😛

LFW14 Basharatyan V SS15

September 16, 2014
Basharatyan

BASHARATYAN V is a newly launched label by the talented, young fashion designer, Veronica Basharatyan.

http://www.basharatyanv.com

I was honoured to have been chosen as one of the models to walk in the Basharatyan LFW14 SS15 show.

Backstage was relatively relaxed, well organised and warm. The design team, hair and make-up artists were hardworking, focused and friendly..

The SS15 Collection showcased Suits & Stilettos, Coffee Bean inspired designs, Chiffon Delicates, Sweetheart Necklines, Ruby Red and Sparkly Gowns and Mafia Chick Outfits. The Collection has elegant and feminine pieces you can wear in the day but also jazz up in the evening.

The Show was packed out and plenty of photographers were bunched together at the end of the runway aiming to get that perfect shot. The scent of freshly grounded coffee filled the room as the first two models walked out in old school italian pinstripe suits clutching espresso cups.

My favourite outfit had to be a dazzling chiffon golden and dark coffee inspired gown that skimmed the floor beautifully on the runway. Any woman who wears this dress would have the world at her feet. Every man and woman would stop, stare and admire from all distances.

The makeup consisted of black flicks, nude smackers and popping cheekbones whilst the hair was a dreamy but retro Sophia Loren Bob.

The Basaharatyan woman is effortlessly cool, stylish but fierce.

Sahara Star, Mumbai India

Sahara Star – Mumbai India

I lived at the Sahara Star hotel in Mumbai, India from September-December 2012. During this time I was working as Model/Hostess in India for Sahara. I throughly enjoyed my stay there and have always wished to return in the near future. The people are warm, friendly and incredibly hospitable. I highly recommend checking it out if you are planning on visiting Mumbai. It has serene ambience for both business and leisure travellers. The location is ideal as it only 10/15 minutes away from the airport and the hotel offers taxi services which is perfect so you do not have to flag one down in the street.

The hotel has a luxurious vibe with many attractions for example; a picturesque tropical lagoon that looks up to the world’s largest pillar less clear-to-sky dome. There are also three compound-curved, custom-designed glass elevators with panoramic views. It has 223 attractive rooms including 13 luxurious suites which are complimented by “7 specialty” restaurants which makes choosing places to eat each day/night a challenge!

The Ocean Restaurant is simply breath taking, the food is delicious and the atmosphere is beautiful.  There is a private dinning room which holds India’s largest marine aquarium providing home to many wonders of marine life. The dining room is perfect for private soirees as well as special celebrations. It is exclusive in every manner and features customized menus, elegant table settings and special service.

During my stay, I was lucky enough to live in several of the Earth Rooms, each one overlooking the tropical lagoon. The guest rooms are furnished with either a king-size bed or twin beds. All of the Earth room open to a balcony where the guest can enjoy a relaxing evening & a spectacular view. Room service is good and there is a boutique gym and spa on the ground floor. There are several gift shops in the hotel and a bakery… YUM!

I loved eating at the Earth Plate! There is a huge selection of food to choose from and even the fussiest of eaters would manage to fill up a plate or two! I always found myself loading up a second plate at the buffet. The desert table is extremely tempting and I would often have to trial several cakes and different ice cream flavours after my main meal(s)… Thank heavens they have a gym! What I found impressive was the fact that there was always something different on offer every day.  I liked the fact every now and then they would introduce foods from one particularly country i.e. One week in the month they may have a Thai week. And there would be an extra table of special dishes from Thailand to try out. The Earth Plate was by far my favourite place to dine at the Sahara Star!

I would love to go back in the near future 🙂

Sheesh that was Good!

August 14, 2014
I have been to Sheesh a few times; it is always a perfect evening.

To start the night off I usually order a few cocktails; Sheesh Martini, Cosmopolitan, Expresso Martini etc… Just to get the evening going.

I particularly rate the Meze Starter as you get a nice selection of dips and bread which you are able to share with 3-4people. I usually dine with quite a few friends so we normally order 2 or 3. For my mains I would say my favourite dish is the Fener Baligi (Monk fish kebab) which is sensationalFor desert I usually go for the little hot donuts with maple syrup and ice cream topped with pistachio and cinnamon… Just describing this desert is already making my mouth water… Mmm… The donuts arrive hot but not too hot to gobble down in a matter of seconds… they are unreal!

All the food portions are generous and everything is so god damn tasty! I would never really order Turkish food but I do love it here. The restaurant is always busy and at the atmosphere has a real buzz. The restaurant is fun, friendly and seriously glamourous. It is a lovely little place to eat especially if you are looking to celebrate your birthday. The staff are friendly and the manager Colin is always very welcoming and kind.
Check it out for yourselves: http://sheeshrestaurant.co.uk

Valentines Day in Marseille

August 12, 2014

I joined the InterContinental on Valentines evening 14th Feb for several cocktails and a light bite with my parnter. We had travelled to Marseille Vieux Port for a long weekend and I would have to admit dining at the InterContinental was the highlight of our stay in Marseille. We began the evening with several Manhattans which quite quickly got us into a good spirit for the evening. The staff were fantastic and made an already good evening even better. One particular staff member called Julian, was very accommodating even his staff moved silently and professionally around him even whilst he was getting to know his guests. Having spent some hours at the InterContinental we sadly had to leave (at 1AM) having enjoyed many cocktails, several light bites to eat and a bottle of wine…

I hope we were well behaved at the end of the evening 🙂

POP!ness – Wolf & Badger

July 30, 2014

Saturday 26th July at Wolf & Badger, 32 Dover Street, London, saw the launch of Sarah Ho Pop! Bracelets 🙂 Luckily for me and fellow blogging babies we were invited to the launch party! Alco-pops (and non alcoholic drinks) were served along with yummy cake lollies on offer to all customers. Wolf & Badger was decorated in accordance to the Pop!ness theme and everyone was in a joyful summers day mood… Perfeccccct. The designer, Sarah handed out POP! Bracelets to all bloggers; I chose a large Orange bracelet with the yellow gold detail. Actually I loved them so much I bought two more! I have worn them everyday since.

Food Festival On Carnaby St.

July 23, 2014

As a self confessed foodie of course I was going to make my way over to the first food festival taking place on Carnaby Street, Sunday 20th July between the hours of 11am – 6pm.

There was 30 of the area’s best restaurants, bars and cafés who brought along their top notch dishes out onto the streets of Carnaby
It was free to attend and there was a range of £5 taster dishes, one day only offers and free food stands such as ice creams (obviously I made a beeline for the ice cream que… My chosen flavour was Crème brûlée… Mmm

There was also a series of expert cooking demonstrations led by presenter and foodie Hardeep Singh Kohli which was interesting to watch and I was able to pick up a few tips.

I went to check out all the awesome dishes with a couple of girl friends and my brother. We were around the area (Carnaby St. & Regent St. for a couple of hours). Regent St. was also closed off for catwalk shows, dance acts, live music was playing along with various other cool attractions such as a Pimms bus and man made garden.

We had a great day and luckily for us the weather was pretty on point too. Looking forward to attending another food festival soon… mmm maybe a chocolate one? 😀
