GraceBay Babes

March 28, 2017

I stayed at The Grace Bay Club which is situated in Turks and Caicos for one week in January 2017. If you are able to visit the Caribbean then this Island and the resort should be on your list; if not first! I throughly enjoyed my stay and I am not being too kind in saying the resort was absolutely breath taking. Grace Bay Club is very spacious so you never feel crowded even on days that were notably busier then usual. The staff were extremely friendly, warm and accommodating… AND I was particular sold over by the two guys who managed to chop down several coconuts for the girls and I to drink!!! The GBC beach is mesmorising; the sand is so white whilst the sea was incredibly blue… If you get a chance to explore the island then please do as there are many amazing places to visit and locals are genuinely happy to accommodate/see you. If I’m honest, at the end of my stay I was definitely not ready to pack up and leave for London. I cannot wait to return sometime in the near future!

Some of the places I visited outside the resort:

  • Danny Buoys (The local pub/bar and there is Karaoke on selected nights)
  • The Tuscany (another resort on the island)
  • Coco Bisto (Fish was to dieeee for)
  • Bella Luna (Yummy Pizza)
  • Da Conch Shack (Amazing Lobster Dishes!)
  • Coyaba (is a MUST)
  • Somewhere Cafe (Check out the Fajitas and I also went Scuba Diving on the beach there)
  • On Thursday night I went to Fish Fry.

Location: Grace Bay is a 15 minutes away from Providenciales International Airport.

Facilities:

  • 3 restaurants
  • 2 bars
  • 3 swimming pools
  • Anani Spa
  • Jacuzzi
  • fitness centre
  • 2 floodlit tennis courts
  • hobie cats
  • kayaks
  • windsurfing
  • scuba diving
  • Deep sea and bone fishing
  • boat excursions available
  • 18-hole championship golf course nearby
  • Complimentary internet access and all international phone calls from guest room land lines are free of charge
  • Personal concierge services.

Paris and the Eiffel Tower with Chloe…Parisian getaway!

July 20, 2015

Check out Paris and the Eiffel Tower with Chloe. Dreaming of a Parisian getaway!

Four years ago this summer I found myself being whisked away on a romantic getaway to Paris. If there is one thing you MUST do whilst exploring Paris it is to visit the magnificent Eiffel Tower.

The Eiffel Tower is an iron lattice tower located on the champ de mars in Paris, France.

It has become a global cultural icon of France and is one of the most recognisable structures in the world. As well as being the tallest structure in Paris, it is also the most visited monument in the world.

It is not surprising that the Eiffel Tower witnesses so many marriage proposals. It is a magical 324m Parisian icon, scaling three floors with panoramic views of the city.

If romance is what you are after you can chink glasses in the top floor champagne bar overlooking the city and if you wait to visit the tower after dark the tower sparkles every hour on the hour with 20,000 gold lights… Heck, it doesn’t get more romantic then that.

So the London Tube Strikes are going ahead!

July 8, 2015

So the London Tube Strikes are going ahead! What’s it all about?!

LATEST NEWS FEED:

08.30

First Great Western have revealed that they will be compensating passengers for the strike days. The service said it will be compensating “Season Ticket Holders for 9 and 10 July”. Adding: “Details of this will be announced in the next few days”.

Current situation: All London Underground services have now resumed. While it started off well, as Friday morning rush hour begins, several lines are now starting to buckle. First Great Western has a limited service between London, West England and Wales.

The Circle line is now suspended going clockwise. The Hammersmith and City line has no service between Liverpool Street and Barking. The Metropolitan line has no service between Baker Street and Aldgate, and the Waterloo and City line has been suspended.

Wednesday 8th July 2015

This week London underground is set to become a chaotic standstill. At 18:30pm this evening the London underground and First Great Western trains will not be running at all.

The short of it..

The strikes are happening due to a dispute over a pay increase ahead of the 24hour night tube which should launch later this year in London.

The strike will last for 24hours starting 6:30pm on Wednesday 8th July to Thursday 9th July.

First Great Western will be affected from Thursday 9th july to the start of Saturday 11th july

PLAN an alternative route!

The DLR, London over ground, buses and national rail will all still be running. TFL has put out an extra 200 buses on the roads. It is of course expected to be crazy busy so make sure you give yourself enough time between journeys.

You can of course WALK, CYCLE or even RUN to your preferred destination.

If there is a chance for you to drive to work; you can also do that or grab a taxi.

Theres an App for that…
Check out City Mapper to calculate your route for you!!

Gotta Love that London Life 🙂

Prague Castle

Prague Castle – My visit and experience

Prague Castle – the ancient symbol of the Czech state – is the most significant Czech monument and one of the most important cultural institutions.

Prague Castle is definitely a magical place to visit; especially in the Winter. I really enjoyed my trip to the castle and the architectural is a must see; very beautiful decor and atmosphere. I was also lucky enough to see the change of the guards at noon; this was pretty cool.

It is a lovely building steeped in history; luckily my entire tour was accompanied by the Director of the foreign Department from the Office of the President of the Republic PaedDr. Hynek Ravi. In short, I was told the history of the Castle throughout the duration of the tour whilst the Director also shared a couple of humorous stories related to the castle’s history.

I was also lucky enough to visit the rooms which tourists are not allowed access to.

Queens of the Castle

October 24, 2014

At the beginning of October I was lucky enough to spend a week in the beautiful Czech Republic.

During the week I got up to all sorts of awesome activities and so there were no exceptions on my last day. On a bright sunny saturday morning I travelled to the Moravian-Silesian Region where I was able to spend a few hours at the Silesian Ostrava Castle. The atmosphere at the Castle was made up to portray a military camp during the Thirty Years War and I was able to watch several ‘battles’ played out by the soldiers. There were lots of wine/food stalls built up around the castle so luckily us girlies were able to taste a few of the medieval cuisines. In the Castle there was also traditional Czech butcher so some of the meat eaters could get stuck in!

Historical music was played aloud everywhere and there was a varied parade of folk crafts. The Exhibition of Moravian wine was a part of the castle’s regale.

Luckily we could put our expertise’s to practice since we had undergone a “crash course” of wine tasting underground in the Valtice  several days before.

Wine = Winning!

After the Castle I headed to the Golf resort Ostravice where we had a light lunch and were able to enjoy the spectacular views! It was a perfect ending to a jammed pack incredible week in Czech Republic.

Too Fast Too Furious in Ostrava – Czech Republic

October 14, 2014

Ostrava, Czech Republic

On the morning of Wednesday 8th October I found myself being awoken in bed slightly hung over from an evening of wine tasting in Ostrava, Czech Republic…  The 6am wake up phone call had disturbed me from my slumber… Ideal… hmm. Planned was a morning dedicated to sport activities… Hurdles, Football, American Soccer, Zorbing, Athletics… you name it! I needed to man up and get my game face on!

In the afternoon I made my way to the Libros Company to participate in the opening of the new polygon. We were also able to visit the ‘Safe Driving’ for kids centre. There were a bundle of cute children impatiently waiting for us ladies to show them how to drive properly and how to be safe on the road.

After the official ceremony for the opening of the new Polygon I was able to get into my sports gear and hitch a ride in a few of the cars! It was my first time on the dirt track and it was awesome! Not only did I love it but it gave me a huge adrenalin rush. I had the opportunity to ride in jeeps/quad bikes/trucks around a bumpy track! The cars were super fast… I may have let out a slight scream on the quad bike…. Don’t judge me 😛  The driver certainly had no fear for death… thankfully there were no accidents and I’m able to tell the tale :O

Passing of the Crown * 21st September 2014 *

September 26, 2014

SO my year as Miss Earth England has finally come to an end! What an incredible journey it has been. I feel so fortunate to have had the chance to compete at the international finals in Philippines for just less than one month with 90 beautiful ladies; it was an experience of a lifetime.

I am very lucky to have such a huge support network. Thank you to my family and friends who came to watch me win and who have been there for me all year round. Thank you to all the Miss Earth fans from around the world that have constantly supported me. All your lovely comments and emails have been much appreciated!

I worked so hard in the run up to the final and when I won the chance to represent England at one of the Top 3 pageants in the world it was a dream come true. I carried on my hard work all year round. I have always been involved with raising funds for various charities so I was thrilled to win the charity award last year as this meant so much to me especially as I was able to raise money for RSPCA in Leybourne; a charity close to my heart.

During my month in the Philippines I absorbed so much knowledge about the earth, different countries, environment, marine conservation, ecotourism, etc… I made some amazing friends for life from all around the world and built up so many superb memories!

All of the girls were asked to donate a gift from their respective countries in order to raise funds for the Typhoon Victims. My Great Granddad made a solid silver bangle, which I donated. It was the first bangle he ever made and I hope it will be cherished by its new owner.

I planted trees, taught school children about problems we face worldwide, ways to be eco friendly and information about the environment, visited orphanages, spent time with seriously sick children and typhoon victims, ate in the most amazing restaurants, made speeches on stage, performed my Shakespeare monologue at the talent round, gala dinners, gave interviews, got involved in all the challenges, had the most amazing spa day, met mayors of cities, ate so much food, pizza parties with the girls, karaoke on the bus, made a kite, collected a stash of about a gazillion biscuits, donuts, chocolate and crackers, walked in charity catwalk shows, got involved in various arts and crafts, I got the chance to travel to another island; Sorsogon, fell in love with Halo Halo… The list is endless!

When I competed in the final for the Miss Earth 2013 crown on stage I knew there was absolutely nothing more I could of done. 100% effort goes into everything I do. Even for me at the end of the pageant I was all glam’ed out! Picture Perfect everyday in heels, I have never smiled so much in my life 😀

Thank you to all of my sponsors for helping me prepare for the international finals, thank you to the director of Miss Earth Louise and to the judges last year for choosing me to represent England; I am so grateful. I would like to wish Justine, Gabriella, Yasmin and Romy representing the UK in this year’s Miss Earth final all the best! Enjoy every single moment of your time wearing the crown and having the opportunity to represent your country. I know you ladies will rock the Philippines <3 If you ever need any advice/information please do not hesitate to get in touch with me.

Lots of Love,

Chloé xXx

The Gateway of India

September 9, 2014

What a glorious place this is; situated in Colaba, Mumbai. You can witness the beautiful architecture whilst enjoying the fresh sea breeze in the all year round sun. People from all over the world come to see the Gateway.

It is extremely busy and there were a lot of people wanting photographs with my friends and I. I was more then happy to oblige but ended up staying a lot longer then expected. Opposite, is the famous Taj Hotel; which is a hot spot for tourists. The Taj is also an impressive building and you are provided with an excellent view from the Gateway of India.

There is also the option of taking an hours boat ride on the Arabian Sea to the Elephanta Caves. The caves lie just off the coast of the Arabian Sea and are one of the oldest rock cut structures in the country, I have visited the Caves and I would highly recommend taking this trip.

Sahara Star, Mumbai India

Sahara Star – Mumbai India

I lived at the Sahara Star hotel in Mumbai, India from September-December 2012. During this time I was working as Model/Hostess in India for Sahara. I throughly enjoyed my stay there and have always wished to return in the near future. The people are warm, friendly and incredibly hospitable. I highly recommend checking it out if you are planning on visiting Mumbai. It has serene ambience for both business and leisure travellers. The location is ideal as it only 10/15 minutes away from the airport and the hotel offers taxi services which is perfect so you do not have to flag one down in the street.

The hotel has a luxurious vibe with many attractions for example; a picturesque tropical lagoon that looks up to the world’s largest pillar less clear-to-sky dome. There are also three compound-curved, custom-designed glass elevators with panoramic views. It has 223 attractive rooms including 13 luxurious suites which are complimented by “7 specialty” restaurants which makes choosing places to eat each day/night a challenge!

The Ocean Restaurant is simply breath taking, the food is delicious and the atmosphere is beautiful.  There is a private dinning room which holds India’s largest marine aquarium providing home to many wonders of marine life. The dining room is perfect for private soirees as well as special celebrations. It is exclusive in every manner and features customized menus, elegant table settings and special service.

During my stay, I was lucky enough to live in several of the Earth Rooms, each one overlooking the tropical lagoon. The guest rooms are furnished with either a king-size bed or twin beds. All of the Earth room open to a balcony where the guest can enjoy a relaxing evening & a spectacular view. Room service is good and there is a boutique gym and spa on the ground floor. There are several gift shops in the hotel and a bakery… YUM!

I loved eating at the Earth Plate! There is a huge selection of food to choose from and even the fussiest of eaters would manage to fill up a plate or two! I always found myself loading up a second plate at the buffet. The desert table is extremely tempting and I would often have to trial several cakes and different ice cream flavours after my main meal(s)… Thank heavens they have a gym! What I found impressive was the fact that there was always something different on offer every day.  I liked the fact every now and then they would introduce foods from one particularly country i.e. One week in the month they may have a Thai week. And there would be an extra table of special dishes from Thailand to try out. The Earth Plate was by far my favourite place to dine at the Sahara Star!

I would love to go back in the near future 🙂
