The Red Statement Blazer

April 5, 2017

I for one am a sucker for a blazer; I have a dozen different colours/styles hung up in my wardrobe (or say packed in my suitcase, depending on where I am jetting off to).

And lets be honest, we all love the classic black blazer. I mean, it is sophisticated, timeless and forever classy…how can it ever do you wrong? BUT now summer is approaching I think it is time to give the loyal black blazer a well deserved rest and maybe swap it for a statement piece instead… how about RED?

This is one of favourite blazers I bought from Zara not so long along. I like to style around the blazer or even rock it as a suit (I have the matching trousers of course).

OHHH and I don’t suggest walking around in nothing but a bikini and your blazer… just like I did for one of my most recent photo shoots. It was a lot colder than it looks… trust me.

Miss Earth UK Finals

September 3, 2015

WOW what a hectic Bank Holiday Weekend I had!

From London to Kent to Birmingham to North Lincolnshire to Worcestershire then back home to Kent! I have clocked up some serious millage.

I would like to say what a lovely time I had at the Miss Earth UK 2015 finals. It was a pleasure presenting Miss Earth UK for the second year in a row and it was especially nice to catch up with all my pageant sisters and being able to gain new ones. I am already looking forward to next year!

Thanks again to Louise Brown (the UK Director of Miss Earth) for putting on a great event! I know how much effort it takes to put together an event like Miss Earth UK and it is only getting bigger and better each year. Congratulations to all the award winners and our new Miss Earth UK 2015 title holders.

The finale of Miss Earth UK 2015 was held on 29th August 2015 at the Burlington Hotel in Birmingham.

Katrina Kendall was crowned Miss Earth England 2015

Amy Meisak was crowned Miss Earth Scotland 2015

Lara Stephen was crowned Miss Earth Wales 2015.

All three ladies join Dearbhlá Walsh who was crowned Miss Earth Northern Ireland 2015 at City Hotel Derry on 13th July 2015 to make Team UK.

The lucky 4 will now represent their respective countries at the Miss Earth 2015 pageant in Vienna, Austria.

Every single one of the girls competing were fantastic and rocked the stage!

Detoxing – Rooting, Tooting & Juicing

July 1, 2015

Detoxing – Chloe shares juicing tips and health benefits!

Over the past two years I have completed several juice cleanses. Detoxing is something I enjoy and am passionate about. Occasionally I make my own juices but the majority of the time I embark on a juice cleanse programme.

So why cleanse?

Eating the right amount of fruits and vegetables can provide us with all the nutrition we need and keep us healthy for life. Physically eating your 5 a day can sometimes be tricky that’s why blending them together in juices is a fantastic idea to sneak in some extra goodness to your diet.

Juicing will make you feel amazing from the inside and glowing on the outside. You have the power to take charge of your health and get unstuck from your bad habits to create a healthy balanced life.

Some of the cleanses I have tried in the past two years

If you are going to make the juices yourself, remember fresh natural foods are best. Have a play with your own blender if you want to try yourself. It is always good to try the branded juices as a comparison and to educate yourself on the possible flavours and blends!

Obsidian also have a wellness centre located in Spain: http://obsidianwellness.com

Juices and smoothies taste delicious

Detoxification doesn’t have to be boring and bland. Make juices/smoothies that really tickle your taste buds. You can incorporate various supplements/powders in your drinks for that extra healthy oomph.

Support is important for your success. Let your friends/family around you know that you will be juicing. It may not be as easy as you imagined so ask for them to get on board by helping support and encourage you to stick to your plan.

Remember to stay positive! You are on your way to greatness!

Miss Universe Great Britain 2015

June 30, 2015

Miss Universe GB

WOW, what an amazing few days I have had at Miss Universe Great Britain.

I can honestly say I put my heart and soul into the Miss Universe Great Britain contest. There was absolutely nothing nothing left in me to produce a better outcome. I am incredibly proud of all the girls who competed on Saturday night and also proud of myself. I was confident positive and very focused. I am feeling empowered!

Having already competed Internationally at Miss Earth 2013 representing England, I have naturally improved and become far more rounded and focused. I felt the best I have ever felt whilst performing on stage this weekend at Miss Universe GB and for that reason I do not feel sad I that I did not win. I know I gave it my all. From the long hours spent at the gym, pageant training lessons, interview prep to carefully choosing my gown and clothes I would wear during the three days competing.

Thank you so much to Paula for organising the competition. It was lovely to be competing with some of my very good friends and new faces. All of the girls were awesome and I know I have come away with some new pageant sisters. I love the thought of being with like minded women empowering one another. I am inspired by strong women, who are ambitious and know what they want out of life. I have met some of my best friends in pageants. That is something I will be eternally grateful for.

I am so overwhelmed by the amount of people who supported me on my journey to Miss Universe Great Britain. I am truly grateful for every single person who donated to my Strongbones JustGiving fund, who took the time to vote for me and all the kind messages I received in the lead up to the final; I was generally touched by all the support. You guys are awesome and I feel emotional that so many of you had be down as your winner…I now have time to read your forums online and have translated into English. You are so very kind to me and I thank you all for the best wishes.

I am so pleased for Nena and I am confident she will do well at Mss Universe 2015 later this year. She is a fabulous winner and I cannot wait to follow her journey.

Queens of the Castle

October 24, 2014

At the beginning of October I was lucky enough to spend a week in the beautiful Czech Republic.

During the week I got up to all sorts of awesome activities and so there were no exceptions on my last day. On a bright sunny saturday morning I travelled to the Moravian-Silesian Region where I was able to spend a few hours at the Silesian Ostrava Castle. The atmosphere at the Castle was made up to portray a military camp during the Thirty Years War and I was able to watch several ‘battles’ played out by the soldiers. There were lots of wine/food stalls built up around the castle so luckily us girlies were able to taste a few of the medieval cuisines. In the Castle there was also traditional Czech butcher so some of the meat eaters could get stuck in!

Historical music was played aloud everywhere and there was a varied parade of folk crafts. The Exhibition of Moravian wine was a part of the castle’s regale.

Luckily we could put our expertise’s to practice since we had undergone a “crash course” of wine tasting underground in the Valtice  several days before.

Wine = Winning!

After the Castle I headed to the Golf resort Ostravice where we had a light lunch and were able to enjoy the spectacular views! It was a perfect ending to a jammed pack incredible week in Czech Republic.

Banana Baby

October 23, 2014
banana

I going to be loud and proud and admit I am obsessed with bananas! I am not about to go banana crazy but I do blend one or two almost everyday (that’s if I am not chopping up the little yellow fella and chucking it into my baobab cinnamon porridge.

I did a little research online and found 25 awesome Banana ‘facts.’

Due to my kind hearted nature I thought it was only fair to share all the banana facts/uses below:

ENJOY

  1. Bananas help overcome depression due to high levels of tryptophan, which is converted into serotonin — the happy-mood brain neurotransmitter.
  2. Eat two bananas before a strenuous workout to pack an energy punch and sustain your blood sugar.
  3. Protect against muscle cramps during workouts and nighttime leg cramps by eating a banana.
  4. Counteract calcium loss during urination and build strong bones by supplementing with a banana.
  5. Improve your mood and reduce PMS symptoms by eating a banana, which regulates blood sugar and produces stress-relieving relaxation.
  6. Bananas reduce swelling, protect against type II diabetes, aid weight loss, strengthen the nervous system, and help with the production of white blood cells, all due to high levels of vitamin B-6.
  7. Strengthen your blood and relieve anemia with the added iron from bananas.
  8. High in potassium and low in salt, bananas are officially recognized by the FDA as being able to lower blood pressure and protect against heart attack and stroke.

    Eating Bananas Aids Digestion

  9. Rich in pectin, bananas aid digestion and gently chelate toxins and heavy metals from the body.
  10. Bananas act as a prebiotic, stimulating the growth of friendly bacteria in the bowel. They also produce digestive enzymes to assist in absorbing nutrients.
  11. Constipated? High fiber in bananas can help normalize bowel motility.
  12. Got the runs? Bananas are soothing to the digestive tract and help restore lost electrolytes after diarrhoea.
  13. Bananas are a natural antacid, providing relief from acid reflux, heartburn and GERD.
  14. Bananas are the only raw fruit that can be consumed without distress to relieve stomach ulcers by coating the lining of the stomach against corrosive acids.

Natural Cures From A Simple Banana

  15. Eating bananas will help prevent kidney cancer, protects the eyes against macular degeneration and builds strong bones by increasing calcium absorption.
  16. Bananas make you smarter and help with learning by making you more alert. Eat a banana before an exam to benefit from the high levels of potassium.
  17. Bananas are high in antioxidants, providing protection from free radicals and chronic disease.
  18. Eating a banana between meals helps stabilize blood sugar and reduce nausea from morning sickness.
  19. Rub a bug bite or hives with the inside of the banana peel to relieve itching and irritation.
  20. Control blood sugar and avoid binging between meals by eating a banana.
  21. Eating a banana can lower the body temperature and cool you during a fever or on a hot day.
  22. The natural mood-enhancer tryptophan, helps to relieve Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD).
  23. Quitting smoking? Bananas contain high levels of B-vitamins as well as potassium and magnesium to speed recovery from the effects of withdrawal.
  24. Remove a wart by placing the inside of a piece of banana peel against the wart and taping it in place.
  25. Rub the inside of a banana peel on your leather shoes or handbag and polish with a dry cloth for a quick shine

Greasy hair beware!

October 20, 2014

Have you ever found yourself in a grim and ‘greasy’ situation and you’ve finished the last of your dry shampoo?!? No stress… baby powder is the perfect cover up! You can sprinkle it onto your roots or brush it throughout your hair.  Not only does it remove the oil but it smells clean.

Baby powder works wonders for blondes/grey hairs. QUICK TIP: You could also add a little bit of cocoa powder to the baby powder if you are brunette… Redheads try cinnamon… brush it throughout your hair.

Other awesome uses for Baby Powder include:

Ant repel

Pet shampoo

Removes Sand and grease stains

Loosen up playing cards

Ease waxing pain

Freshen up your shoes

Add to plastic gloves to fit into them easier (eliminates moisture)

Freshen closets

Cool your sheets during the hot months

Makes a good deodorant and keeps your fresh

Soothes your skin

WHAT!? You are out of baby powder too :O ooooook… how about adding some translucent powder to your powder brush and brush that onto your roots/tzone. This is also a clever substitute for dry shampoo 😀

Magnums 25th Anniversary

October 15, 2014

27th July Regent Street saw the epic Magnum takeover!

It was awesome… FREE chocolate Magnums for all 🙂 25,000 Magnums were in stock and staff were on hand ready to dish them out to all the chocolate junkies.

As we are a nation of selfie crazed citizens, there was an opportunity to WIN a Henry Holland Magnum inspired dress… all you needed to do was TWEET a picture of yourself (a selfie) with your yummy freshly dipped magnum and hash tag MagnumRegentSt.

Shortly after I tweeted my Magnum Selfie I was awarded a free makeover in the VIP ‘Magnum” tent 🙂 I was handed a glass of bubbly on my way in, along with another magnum ice cream and was told I could receive a free makeup goodie bag from KIKO; also on Regent St (which I of course collected)! Woop Woop a successful day… but you had me at ‘free ice-cream’ 😛

Too Fast Too Furious in Ostrava – Czech Republic

October 14, 2014

Ostrava, Czech Republic

On the morning of Wednesday 8th October I found myself being awoken in bed slightly hung over from an evening of wine tasting in Ostrava, Czech Republic…  The 6am wake up phone call had disturbed me from my slumber… Ideal… hmm. Planned was a morning dedicated to sport activities… Hurdles, Football, American Soccer, Zorbing, Athletics… you name it! I needed to man up and get my game face on!

In the afternoon I made my way to the Libros Company to participate in the opening of the new polygon. We were also able to visit the ‘Safe Driving’ for kids centre. There were a bundle of cute children impatiently waiting for us ladies to show them how to drive properly and how to be safe on the road.

After the official ceremony for the opening of the new Polygon I was able to get into my sports gear and hitch a ride in a few of the cars! It was my first time on the dirt track and it was awesome! Not only did I love it but it gave me a huge adrenalin rush. I had the opportunity to ride in jeeps/quad bikes/trucks around a bumpy track! The cars were super fast… I may have let out a slight scream on the quad bike…. Don’t judge me 😛  The driver certainly had no fear for death… thankfully there were no accidents and I’m able to tell the tale :O
