GraceBay Babes

March 28, 2017

I stayed at The Grace Bay Club which is situated in Turks and Caicos for one week in January 2017. If you are able to visit the Caribbean then this Island and the resort should be on your list; if not first! I throughly enjoyed my stay and I am not being too kind in saying the resort was absolutely breath taking. Grace Bay Club is very spacious so you never feel crowded even on days that were notably busier then usual. The staff were extremely friendly, warm and accommodating… AND I was particular sold over by the two guys who managed to chop down several coconuts for the girls and I to drink!!! The GBC beach is mesmorising; the sand is so white whilst the sea was incredibly blue… If you get a chance to explore the island then please do as there are many amazing places to visit and locals are genuinely happy to accommodate/see you. If I’m honest, at the end of my stay I was definitely not ready to pack up and leave for London. I cannot wait to return sometime in the near future!

Some of the places I visited outside the resort:

  • Danny Buoys (The local pub/bar and there is Karaoke on selected nights)
  • The Tuscany (another resort on the island)
  • Coco Bisto (Fish was to dieeee for)
  • Bella Luna (Yummy Pizza)
  • Da Conch Shack (Amazing Lobster Dishes!)
  • Coyaba (is a MUST)
  • Somewhere Cafe (Check out the Fajitas and I also went Scuba Diving on the beach there)
  • On Thursday night I went to Fish Fry.

Location: Grace Bay is a 15 minutes away from Providenciales International Airport.

Facilities:

  • 3 restaurants
  • 2 bars
  • 3 swimming pools
  • Anani Spa

Food Festival On Carnaby St.

July 23, 2014

As a self confessed foodie of course I was going to make my way over to the first food festival taking place on Carnaby Street, Sunday 20th July between the hours of 11am – 6pm.

There was 30 of the area’s best restaurants, bars and cafés who brought along their top notch dishes out onto the streets of Carnaby
It was free to attend and there was a range of £5 taster dishes, one day only offers and free food stands such as ice creams (obviously I made a beeline for the ice cream que… My chosen flavour was Crème brûlée… Mmm

There was also a series of expert cooking demonstrations led by presenter and foodie Hardeep Singh Kohli which was interesting to watch and I was able to pick up a few tips.

I went to check out all the awesome dishes with a couple of girl friends and my brother. We were around the area (Carnaby St. & Regent St. for a couple of hours). Regent St. was also closed off for catwalk shows, dance acts, live music was playing along with various other cool attractions such as a Pimms bus and man made garden.

We had a great day and luckily for us the weather was pretty on point too. Looking forward to attending another food festival soon… mmm maybe a chocolate one? 😀

Bronzed Goddess

March 7, 2014

Last night I managed to squeeze in a ‘Vita Liberata’ Spray Tan at the ‘Benefit Boutique’ in Covent Garden;5 minutes from where I live. I usually get my tan  at ‘Fab Spray Tans’ in Kent (usually on a Friday night) BUT as I am in London during the week, I had to look at other options!

I came across ‘Benefit Boutique’ by chance late yesterday afternoon. I was busy googling spray tan salons in Covent Garden. I didn’t know Benefit had rooms for pamper sessions, sprays tans, waxes, eyebrows etc. They also do make overs which I will probably try next week! Luckily the Boutique had one space left at 5:30pm so I got myself booked in and a few hours later I was standing naked in the spray booth waiting to be transformed! I can’t stand tan lines so I always decline the option of the ‘paper thong’ but I was taking no chances with muddy looking feet so the sticky shoes were a YES please! My tan specialist was incredibly friendly and sweet. The whole process takes around 15minutes as I like to be sprayed twice. I wanted to be brown not ‘lightly sun kissed.’ I walked in like a pasty goat so I need to be leaving like I have stepped off of a plane after a week in the Bahamas! The whole process took around half an hour which was ideal plus it was now dark outside… WIN no one can see my tangoed new look in the dark. Hoping no one would see me (plus I’m braless) I quickly pop into Holland and Barretts to trial a couple pea-protein yoghurts… FAIL they taste horrible (I’m trying to limit my dairy and soya intake so I am looking at other options, clearly this was not one). Anyway I get home and sleep in all black loose clothing, I put a towel over my pillows and sheets as not to stain them! I wash my tan off in the morning and I am looking meeeeaaan. Loving my new bronzed look and I will definitely book myself in again! Now the real question is how long will this tan last??? Meh, as long as I am looking fresh for the weekend it’s all good in the hood.
